Brief Biography

Giovanna Guidoboni is the inaugural Dean of Maine College of Engineering and Computing, which bridges engineering and computing programs for the benefit of all students across the University of Maine System. She previously served as associate dean for research and professor in the College of Engineering at the University of Missouri (MO, USA), and was on the faculty at the University of Houston (TX, USA), Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IN, USA), and the Université de Strasbourg (France). She is an elected member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts and is founder and manager of Gspace LLC, which provides modeling and computational solutions for complex problems in engineering and life sciences. Guidoboni also serves as co-founder and co-editor-in-chief of the journal “Modeling and Artificial Intelligence in Ophthalmology” (Kugler Publications, the Netherlands). She holds a doctorate in mathematics and both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in materials engineering from the University of Ferrara.
