Brief Biography

During his undergraduate studies, Felix researched Schistosoma and other intestinal helminthic infections in two village communities around the Bosomtwe lake. The aim was to determine the prevalence of Schistosoma and other intestinal helminthic infections in school children. After his undergraduate studies, Felix worked as a Teaching and Research Assistant at the Biological Sciences Department, KNUST. He also had the opportunity to work on the National COVID-19 Response team (COVID Project) at Kumasi Center for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine, KCCR, as a Research Assistant. Currently, Felix’s research is on the effects of Mentha pulegium leaf extract on the hypothalamus and sexual behavior in rat models. Here, he’s studying the effect of the extract on the Hypothalamus, pituitary and gonads. He is interested in cellular and molecular neuroscience research that will contribute to identifying relevant targets for new drug treatments for neurological disorders. Felix is a passionate soccer fan. He loves fishing and enjoys music in his leisure time.
