GSBSE @ UNE

A new GSBSE admission track with first year rotations at the University of New England

Overview

GSBSE @ UNE is new admissions track into the UMaine GSBSE’s PhD in Biomedical Science for students who are committed to performing thesis research at the University of New England (UNE). This track preserves GSBSE’s hallmark first year laboratory rotation opportunities, with all rotations performed with UNE faculty members.

With an “R2” Carnegie classification (“High Research Activity”),  UNE promotes research in a wide range of fascinating areas in its nine centers and institutes, including the Center of Biomedical Research Excellence for the Study of Pain and Sensory Function (COBRE)the Center for Excellence in the Neurosciences, the Center for Excellence in Public Health, and others.

As Maine’s leading provider of health professionals, UNE builds on a legacy of top-ranked health professions programs including Maine’s only medical college and physician assistant program, as well as the only dental college in Maine.

UNE’s expansive, holistic vision of a healthier world includes more than physical well-being. It encompasses intellectual fulfillment and economic opportunity for individuals, prosperous and supportive communities, and cooperative environmental stewardship.

UNE learning happens online and on three beautiful campuses: on the shore in Biddeford, Maine; in Portland, Maine; and at our study-abroad campus in Tangier, Morocco.
