Vitaliia Tomakhiv

Brief Biography 

Vitaliia (Vita) Tomakhiv is the Graduate Assistant of GSBSE since October 1, 2022. Vita works closely with Jenn Chiarell, GSBSE Program Assistant  and the Graduate School in helping with administration, management, coordination activities and different kinds of support. 

Vita came to Maine in June 2022 from Ukraine. She is currently a second-year graduate student with the School of Policy and International Affairs at the University of Maine, focusing on Development, Diplomacy and Security in Global Policy. 

Vita’s previous experience includes working as a journalist for Radio Liberty, internship in Parliament of Ukraine, working at the Marketing Department for an information technology company, and helping the Office for International Program as a Program Assistant. 

Vita graduated from Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University in 2020 with a BA in Ukrainian and English language and Medialingustics and in May 2022 with MA in Political Science. 

Currently her interests are in politics, international relations, communications, social media marketing, and journalism. Vita also has her own collection of poems, likes creative writing, photography, art, her country, freedom, traveling around the world, people, music and coffee.
