The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

The TOEFL Test, which is administered online, is offered more than 50 times a year at ETS-authorized test centers throughout the world, including several locations in Maine.  The paper based test is currently only offered in areas where online testing is not available. Please contact the Educational Testing Service (ETS) to register to take the TOEFL.

Please use institution code 3916 when requesting scores to be sent from ETS to the University of Maine Graduate School.  If you have already taken the TOEFL, click here to request your TOEFL scores.

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

The IELTS is administered in over 1,100 locations across the world, including the USA, with tests up to four times a month. Please consult their webpage for test center locations, specific information on registering for the test and instructions on requesting test results.
