Research Interests

Dissertation Projects My dissertation project focuses on understanding the role of Interleukin-17 Receptor D (IL-17RD) in the context of cardiovascular disease. IL-17RD was initially discovered as an inhibitor of fibroblast growth factor (FGF) signaling, however it was subsequently also shown to modulate proinflammatory signaling pathways such as IL-17A and TNFa. Currently, I am using mouse models and in vitro cell culture models to determine the role of IL-17RD in atherosclerotic vascular disease.

In addition to my research work, I also have a keen interest in developing my teaching skills, and am currently mentoring interns and students associated with the MMCRI internship programs in the lab.
