Biography
I recently completed my Master’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Maine, where I also completed my undergraduate degree in the same major and a minor in chemistry. It has provided me with experience in atomic force microscopy, statistical data analysis via programs such as Python, ImageJ, and JMP, scanning electron microscopy, and more. I am finishing with a desire to expand my horizons in academic research, and I am thrilled to be doing so through the GSBSE. As someone who has always had a desire to improve and learn more about existing systems for the benefit of health and humanity, I am looking forward to pursuing my interests in tissue engineering, biomaterials, and biochemistry while expanding my research skills further into wet lab settings from my previous experiences, which have been more focused on small medical devices. Outside of the lab, I run a lot, completing two marathons and four half marathons in the past year. I also love to ski, read, and spend time with my dog.
