Brief Biography

From a very young age I have been in a scientific environment and became passionate about biology early on in my life.
Cancer biology and virology research has always fascinated me, for my dissertation I worked in a Hepatitis C virus project which made me realise how passionate I was towards biomedical research. Further more I have worked in a laboratory that specialises in mitochondrial research.
I also want to explore bioinformatics, omics and Systems biology related fields in the near future. I am open to experimentation.
In addition to academics I am also a Trained Indian Classical Vocalist, trained in Nazrul Geeti (Indian classical genre) till 3rd year of examination. Also a trained Kathak Dancer till 3rd year of examination. I was part of my University’s Music club SNUPHORIA. I joined as an Indian Vocalist and later served as Student Mentorship Program (SMP) coordinator for a short period of time as well as the judge for the Indian vocals entry. I love meeting new people, adventure and enjoy beautiful sceneries as well as photography. Cooking and music is therapeutic to me, I enjoy a good company of diverse people and absolutely adore animals.
UMaine GSBSE program provides an unique environment to nurture our ideas and progress towards our goals. This conglomeration of numerous institutes will provide the necessary guidance and diverse points of view allowing us to think out of the box.
