Clarissa Henry, Professor of Biological Sciences in the School of Biology & Ecology at the University of Maine, takes part in discussing the growth of biomedical research and education in Maine.
Clarissa’s research is in a cell and molecular biology of segmentation and muscle development in zebrafish. The goal of the lab Clarissa run is to elucidate the signaling networks that underlie muscle morphogenesis. Also, recently she was awarded as the principal investigator for a $11.3 million Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) award from the National Institutes of Health (NIH)
