Education
- St. Augustine’s University, 2022, B.S in Exercise Science
- Grand Valley State University, 2025, M.H.S in Biomedical Sciences
Research Interests
My broad research interests involve understanding the molecular mechanisms which lead to the pathogenesis and progression of chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer and other associated conditions. I am particularly interested in identifying biomarkers for early diagnosis and treatment.

Brief Biography
Originally from Barbados, I moved to the United States to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. Over time, my curiosity about the biological processes that drive health and disease led me to transition into biomedical science. I completed a Master of Health Science (MHS) in Biomedical Science, where I focused on biodegradable metals and their potential in treating ischemic heart disease as a stent material.
Currently, my research interests include chronic metabolic disorders, specifically identifying biomarkers and therapeutic targets that could lead to better prevention and treatment strategies. I’m also passionate about translational science and its role in connecting laboratory discoveries to real-world health outcomes.
Beyond the lab, I also interested in health equity, science communication, and mentoring emerging scientists. Outside of research, I enjoy sports, traveling, and solving puzzles. I’m excited to be part of the Ph.D. program at MHIR, where I can continue to grow as both a researcher and a contributor to the broader scientific community.
