International Applicants

Many of the University of Maine Graduate Programs require applicants to submit official reports from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), or the Miller Analogies Test (MAT).  Please check with the program you are applying to for specific test requirements.  Most of the tests are available on an individual appointment basis throughout the year at regional test centers.  Please visit each test’s web site for general information, to register for the test, or to request that your official test scores be sent to the University of Maine Graduate School.

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE)

An official GRE report of scores is required for admission in most graduate programs at UMaine.  Please check with your intended graduate program for test score requirements.

The GRE revised General Test is available at more the 1,000 test centers in more than 160 countries.  It is offered as a computer-delivered test year-round at most locations and as a paper-delivered test up to three times a year in areas where computer–delivered testing is not available. The Educational Testing Service (ETS) offers free test preparation materials for the GRE on their website. There are many test locations in the United States, including four in Maine. You are encouraged to check with your desired testing location as soon as possible to select your test date.
