BMS 635 - Mouse Genome Manipulation

Course Overview

This module is designed to give an overview of using the mouse to develop transgenic models of gene expression and gene targeting. Students will discuss basic transgenic and gene targeting construct design, methods to generate transgenic mice by microinjection methods, and conditional and inducible systems. The goal is to provide a general understanding of strategies for developing and characterizing a mouse model of human disease or gene function.

This class is offered in the Spring.
