Service Awards

Faculty, David Neivandt
“Dr. Neivandt has been highly sensitive and responsive to GSBSE student needs, both academic/scientific and personal, with respect to fulfillment of their individual professional goals. This fully embodies the “pro-student” enabling that has been central to our program and its success.”

Student, Magdalena Blaszkiewicz
“Magda has assisted in creating a new student mentor program as part of the T32 submission, has supported GSBSE as part of the Grad Student Government since arriving at UMaine in 2015, and served as GSBSE graduate student representative for GSG and served as the GSG grants officer. Magda has been involved in each GSBSE annual meeting, the yearly meetings at MBMSS, and each year’s Grad Expo. During one GSBSE annual meeting Magda was the student who organized team building activities. Furthermore, Magda has unofficially mentored numerous GSBSE students, as a more experienced (non-traditional) graduate student. I know personally that this advice has been a huge asset to younger GSBSE students.”
